According to news on January 14, recently, the World Economic Forum released the latest list of global ” lighthouse factories “. Eight Chinese factories including Lenovo Group Hefei Industrial Base, Haier Hefei Innovation Industrial Park, and Fii Shenzhen Guanlan Factory were selected. So far, the number of “lighthouse factories” in the world has reached 132, including 50 in China, ranking first in the world.
The global “Lighthouse Factory” is known as “the most advanced factory in the world”, jointly selected by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey Consulting, representing the highest level of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization in the global manufacturing industry . According to the World Economic Forum, compared with non-lighthouse factories, lighthouse factories are three times more likely to use Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to develop their production networks, and 50% more likely to complete scale expansion ahead of schedule. Since the selection began in 2018, the number of selected factories in China has shown an accelerated growth trend, leading the development of the world’s advanced manufacturing industry. Among them, the city with the most lighthouse factories is Suzhou (6), followed by Hefei (4), Shanghai, Qingdao and Tianjin tied for third (3).
It is worth mentioning that Hefei, a major manufacturing city, has added two more “lighthouse factories” this time. One is the Haier factory, which uses a customized IIoT platform to deploy 18 different fourth industrial revolution technology use cases in the fields of supply network, R&D, manufacturing and customer service, ingeniously coping with product diversity, delivery time and The product quality challenge ended up cutting order lead times in half and reducing field defect rates by 33%.
The other is the Hefei Industrial Base of Lenovo Group. Through the deployment of more than 30 fourth industrial revolution (4IR) flexible automation and digital use cases, it needs to process 8,000 customer orders every day, and 80% of them are customized for less than 5 units per order. In the case of demand, a 45% increase in labor productivity was still achieved. With the support of intelligent manufacturing upgrades, Lenovo Group’s Hefei Industrial Base has achieved annual revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan and maintained a sustained and steady growth. The manufacturing cost of a single product has dropped by 15% and carbon emissions have been reduced by 49%. (quietly)
