The employment index was 47.6%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the previous month, indicating that the employment prosperity level of manufacturing enterprises rebounded slightly.

The supplier delivery time index was 44.1 percent, an increase of 6.9 percentage points from the previous month, and was still lower than the critical point, indicating that the delivery time of manufacturing raw material suppliers was still relatively slow.

In May, the resumption of work and production in areas affected by the epidemic gradually advanced, and the manufacturing PMI rose to 49.6% from the low base level in April. Among the 21 industries surveyed, the number of industries with PMI in the expansion range increased from 9 in the previous month to 12, and the manufacturing sector showed positive changes.

(1) Both production and demand have recovered somewhat.
