Chongqing’s first imported monkeypox case

The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has released details of the first imported monkeypox case in China: a 29-year-old Chinese nationality salesman visited Germany from September 2-8, during which MSM behavior (Male Sex) occurred. He then traveled to Spain and returned to Chongqing on September 14. The man developed a dry, itchy throat and fever on September 9, and a red rash and pustules on his right leg. On September 11, he went to a private clinic and took anti-inflammatory drugs. Quarantine at a COVID-19 quarantine site in Chongqing on September 14. The samples collected showed that he was monkeypox virus positive, and subsequent testing confirmed that it was the B.1 branch of the West African lineage of monkeypox.
