For the first time, Denmark has had a year without bank robberies due to the decline in the use of cash. An increasingly cashless society has led banks to reduce cash services, leaving looters with less and less loot, according to the Danish finance industry union. The union said it was unbelievable, given that in the past whenever there was a bank robbery, the staff would feel great pressure. There were 221 bank robberies in Denmark in 2000, and since 2017 the number has gradually decreased to less than 10 a year.
