Duan Yongping is a famous investor in China. He graduated from the Radio Department of Zhejiang University in 1983. He founded two well-known brands, “Xiaobawang” and “BBK”, and promoted the creation of two mobile phone brands “VIVO” and “OPPO”.
According to Zhejiang University, as early as September 2006, Duan Yongping and Ding Lei, founder of NetEase, jointly donated 40 million US dollars to Zhejiang University, setting a record for the largest single donation by a Chinese university at that time.
Duan Yongping also set up an equal allocation fund to attract more alumni and people from all walks of life to care and support the development of education through the method of “grouping together efforts”. In 2006, it set up the “Yongping Student Loan”. The “Zhejiang University Yongping Teaching Fund” launched in 2012 was also set up by Duan Yongping to reward teachers who have made outstanding contributions to education and teaching.
