Energy Star X utilizes Windows 11’s EcoQos API (“efficiency mode”) to limit the resource usage of background applications, thereby improving battery life and cooling performance. It does not restrict foreground apps to ensure user experience. This application is a graphical version of the open source program EnergyStar, developed using the Windows App SDK (WinUI 3).
