European consumer group BEUC said on Thursday that a French consumer group and similar groups in other countries had filed a complaint with privacy regulators against Alphabet subsidiary Google over the company’s access to vast amounts of users’ personal data through Google accounts. Carr’s request is unlikely to be supported because the FCC has no authority to regulate app stores and the agency’s agenda is largely set by its Democratic chairman.
