origin

In June last year, a recruitment tweet by Guoren Xiangjian let me know about Love Hometown Book Bar and Siping Village, Fujian Province where it is located, and prompted me to join Love Hometown. It’s a pity that by chance, I was arranged to go to Hanzhong Huo Shao Restaurant. In the blink of an eye, half a year later, I crossed the mountains and came to Siping for the first time.

love at first sight

After two days of running around, switching from airplanes, bullet trains to cars, I finally arrived at Siping. When I got out of the car, I looked up and saw a long rain corridor. At this moment, the phantom in my mind merged and overlapped with the scene in front of me. My heart revealed a little joy. A journey is over, and a longer journey is here Spread out under your feet.

I came too fast, and before my friend arrived, I couldn’t wait to ask the old man by the roadside how to get to the bookstore, and then excitedly walked down the stone ladder by the corridor with my suitcase.

Halfway through the walk, I heard the sound of rumbling water. I turned around the corner, and I was stunned like a fisherman breaking into a peach blossom garden. The vision suddenly opened up, and the houses looked like houses. Sitting on a mottled rammed earth wall. Behind me, the water flowed over the high rocks and fell into the pond, splashing clusters of water splashes, which also shattered my impressions from images and words. Until this time, I didn’t touch the real Siping.

The huge impact slowed my pace. I wanted to take pictures to keep this moment, but I gave up. The indifference and coldness brought by the cool evening wind, the sound of splashing water, and the cheerful fish swimming in the pond all told me that no matter how good the photo was, I couldn’t keep this moment. Instead of leaving an afterimage of this moment in vain, hoping to reminisce in the future, it is better to savor the surprise and touch of this moment with your heart.

Yingyue Pond

Walking slowly down the stream downstream of the pond, and turning around a few earthen walls, I came to a half-moon shaped pond. I looked up and saw a two-story wooden building standing by the water. The stone road under the shade of willows led me to find the bookstore. Walking into the book bar, he said hello to Ouyang who was about to go out. Although we met for the first time, we were not unfamiliar with each other. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Ouyang took me to the room arranged by the cooperative to settle down.

Unpacking and roaming the village calmed my mind and time slowed down.

Back at the book bar, wander among the well-arranged tables and chairs and exhibits, and finally choose a book from the bookshelf, and sit under the window by the pond. I opened the book, and in the quiet music, the time slowed down to almost freeze, and I didn’t realize that the sky outside the window was gradually dimming.

quiet night

Until the night covered the village, everything was silent except for the murmur of running water. In the dark night, the attic is dotted with sporadic lights; the night sky casts tiny stars.

I walked into the night and saw the distant mountains silhouetted against the blue-black sky. The outside of the village seemed to be covered with a layer of black cloth, with no light shining through. Closing my eyes, I didn’t know where I was for a moment, and I even forgot what time it was. The sky and the earth are boundless, and only my heart remains. And this tiny heart gave birth to the vastness of the universe.

Dao is big, sky is big, earth is big, and people are big.
