Form Energy is an American power storage system developer, specializing in the development and manufacture of lithium batteries that can store large amounts of electrical energy for a long time, and find solutions for power storage for weeks, months or even years. Enabling fully stable and dispatchable distribution of renewable energy throughout the year, and expanding transmission capacity without the need for new wires. Recently, Form Energy announced that it has received US$450 million in Series E financing, led by TPG Rise, TPG’s global impact investment platform. These financings include funds subject to regulatory approval, as well as funds allocated to existing investors. This round brings Form Energy’s total funding to more than $800 million. Other investors in the Series E round include: GIC and Canada Pension Plan Investments (CPP Investments), as well as existing investors ArcelorMittal, Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV), Capricorn Investment Group, Coatue, Energy Impact Partners (EIP), MIT’s the Engine, NGP ETP, Temasek, Prelude Ventures, and VamosVentures.
