CommonSpirit Health, the fourth-largest hospital system in the United States, said on Tuesday that it had experienced IT security issues and that some systems were taken offline. It did not disclose further details. But people familiar with the matter confirmed it suffered a ransomware attack . The ransomware attack at CommonSpirit, which operates more than 140 U.S. hospitals, caused the company’s hospitals to delay surgeries, suspend patient care, and reschedule doctor appointments across the country.
