IT House News on January 17, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Foxconn has appointed Michael Chiang as the new director of its iPhone assembly business, replacing the previous long-term director Wang Charng-yang.

Foxconn declined to comment. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

IT House previously reported that in the past few months, various factors have disrupted the supply chain, resulting in heavy production of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, with the latter being the most affected. At its worst, Apple issued a press release stating that the iPhone 14 Pro was “reducing production,” and they expected the iPhone 14 Pro to ship within weeks, or even as long as a month.

At the beginning of this year, after several weeks of downturn, the production capacity of Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory has returned to 90% of its peak production capacity, and the supply situation of Apple’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro has been greatly eased.

In addition, as usual, Apple will launch the new iPhone 15/Pro series this fall. It is reported that Hon Hai’s Shenzhen Guanlan factory has begun to enter the high-end iPhone 15 trial production import service (NPI), highlighting this year’s new iPhone OEM, Hon Hai Still stand firm.

According to the latest data from Hon Hai, the parent company of Foxconn, revenue in December 2022 will be NT$629.34 billion (currently approximately RMB 139.713 billion), an increase of 14.2% month-on-month and a decrease of 12.3% year-on-year, still the third highest in the same period over the years.
