Global temperatures in 2022 will be fifth hottest on record

According to a NASA report, 2022 will be the fifth-hottest year on record globally. Last year’s global average temperature rose by 0.89 degrees Celsius compared with the 1951-1980 base period average temperature. The report pointed out that 2022 is tied with 2015 as the fifth hottest year since meteorological records began in 1880, and the past nine years have also been the hottest nine years since records began. The global temperature in 2022 will be about 1.11 degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature at the end of the 19th century. The continuous warming of the earth is mainly caused by the massive emission of greenhouse gases from human activities. According to the report, regions across the globe are being affected by warming of the atmosphere and oceans. Climate change is increasing the intensity of rainfall and tropical storms, making droughts more severe and the impact of storm surges intensified.
