A resignation and farewell
Five years ago, I was invited to join Geekbang Technology, and worked with the company’s partner team (Huo Taiwen, Selina, Gary) to build the product Geek Time. In October 2017, the Geek Time App was officially launched, and it was launched one after another. Build geek time training camp, enterprise edition, InfoQ writing platform and other business products to help companies complete their strategic transformation from a media company to a comprehensive learning platform integrating IT media, digital talent learning and corporate training.
Now, GeekTime has served millions of digital talents and tens of thousands of enterprises. Hundreds of thousands of people are studying our best column course. We have helped many users solve practical problems and let users grow into better ones. self. For five years I’ve put a lot of effort into Geek Time, and I’m very proud of our products and our users. In this process, most of the successes are the achievements of the team, and all the mistakes are due to my personal decisions or other problems. The individual is never as important as the team. 2 Entrepreneurship and Creation
Why start a company? Because life is too short, when you have the ability and resources, you should do what you want to do, and do things that can benefit others and make you happy. I want to build a more free and vast future through an institution. This is a must for starting a business. I have worked for more than 20 years, and I used to have a comfort zone for 8 years. After stepping out, it is a big river, and I can see the intensity and the vastness. Along the way, I’ve been pushing myself beyond writing code, leading a team, building a product, writing, and finally building a company.
We should have maximum control over our work and life. Life is less than a hundred years, and every day should be happy and valuable. In this way, my entrepreneurship appeal is quite simple.
In the era of the epidemic, people talk about turning inward and lying flat. What they are instilled in their minds is that you should not think about a certain kind of life, you do not deserve to have it, and you should not pursue it. Obedience, numbness, compromise, ridicule, helplessness, improvisation, many people’s hearts become old and there is no hope in their blood.
I don’t want this, we choose to try another possibility in life, we are not willing to dance in the circle designated by the world, and we are not willing to repeat the life trajectory that countless people have repeated. When old things fail, there are opportunities for new things to emerge. For those changes destined to happen, the macroeconomic downturn is the best opportunity. One of the things I always say is that whenever you have a chance, see which car you can catch.
I believe that many great companies will be established in such a situation. New things are springing up like bamboo shoots after a rain, growing in fields that people can’t see, star maps change, grass and trees wither. Only people who really want to start a company and not just want to get rich quick will choose this opportunity to start a business, and at the same time, there will be fewer of them. Competitors, because most people are reluctant to do hard things. People love the story of getting rich overnight, even if it never happened to them.
My good friends and seniors are very supportive of my entrepreneurship, the reason is: after all, you are not young, you can do whatever you want. Moreover, they also provided sufficient start-up funds, that is to say, our angel round has been closed. You see, you can still encounter such good things 🙂
The older I get, the more I realize that I should spend my time on more important things and people, do less things, and do things well. There are many things that I can do without me, and others can do it, but some things can only be done by me, such as building a company, such as writing down the systematic knowledge and insights accumulated over the years in popular language, such as providing creators with better tools used and future-proof.
Yes, entrepreneurship always has a direction. My entrepreneurial direction this time focuses on creation: creating various content, creating products that can be created, and creating a subscription trading platform.

Making products is my job, but when the product is not released, we should not talk too much about TA, it is meaningless. What do we do before the product is launched? My teammates and I will provide knowledge services to our users through Knowledge Planet.
