The Google Play Store started requiring app developers to disclose the privacy data they collect . App descriptions on the Play Store will feature a new “Data Privacy and Security” section describing what data is collected, why it is collected, and with whom it is shared. App developers have until July 20 to add a description for this section. But this information is provided by the developer and is essentially based on an honor system. Google has also threatened to take action, including law enforcement, if it finds that the app behaves differently from its description.
