Hackers sell database of 400 million Twitter users

A user named Ryushi peddled the database of 400 million Twitter users on the hacker forum Breached, claiming to use a loophole in the Twitter API to grab it, including email, user name, name, number of fans, creation date and phone number. This user released samples of several celebrities, and the top one is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the Democratic Party of the United States. Hackers also suggested that Twitter or Musk (Elon Musk) spend money to buy the database, threatening them to face huge fines from the European Union’s GDPR due to the capture of hundreds of millions of user data, saying that if Twitter buys it, it will stop selling it. Hackers exploited vulnerabilities that were patched earlier this year, and last month a database of 5.4 million Twitter accounts was freely shared on hacker forums, the latest disclosure of which includes the vast majority of Twitter users.
