The wound from the car crash has not healed for more than two months. Although it does not affect my daily life, it has been pestering me like a mosquito, which makes it difficult for me to concentrate. I finally decided to go to the hospital for a break.

When I went to the pharmacy the day after the crash, the clerk only gave me five yuan a bottle of povidone iodine for disinfection. After all, it was an abrasion and the wound was not deep. I thought it would be healed in a week or two, but the wound was infected. After the scar faded away, there was fluid under the skin that was as tender as a film, and gradually accumulated more and more, and the skin soon bulged.

I don’t know how it got infected, probably it has something to do with excessive exercise. It coincides with the final of a departmental football match. I didn’t want to play at first, but our staff is not complete. As a result of trying his best to play, not only did he lose miserably, but he also twisted his buttocks and thighs due to insufficient warm-up and failed to perform. It was a game where he lost his wife and lost his soldiers.

In addition to the football match, there were also badminton matches in the department in the past two months, as well as a friendly football match to send off the big leaders—three and a half games were played for more than two hours. In addition, I also went out to cycle a few times, entered the campus where I had been away for a long time, and climbed the Tianwen Mountain, which I thought was long but was actually very short.

I broke the bulge by myself, squeezed out the liquid inside, and waited for the scar to fall off, but there was still a bulge. I wanted to go to the hospital after the badminton match, but the busy work and hot weather persuaded me to leave. Later, the newly grown skin was simply torn off. After the new skin grew, it did not heal and was torn off again. However, after a long football game, the new skin bulged again.

The wound healed repeatedly but couldn’t really heal. I repeated this process four or five times in more than two months. I couldn’t repair it with my own strength, so I had to go to the hospital.

It was not a serious problem. The surgeon took a look at it and prescribed two kinds of medicines. Then I went to clean the wound and bandage it. I changed the medicines twice in four days. The bandages were removed a week later, and this time it looked like the wound was finally fully healed, and I should have gone to the hospital sooner.

Although the hospital has a very high chance of healing my wound this time, I am not 100% satisfied with its service, which even deepened my distrust of the hospital.

Patients who go to the hospital to see a doctor are undoubtedly a vulnerable group in front of the doctor. Basically, they can only be at the mercy of the doctor. No matter what medicine is prescribed or what treatment is used, they can only obediently pay the bill.

The medicine prescribed by the doctor this time includes Chinese patent medicine (the content contained in the instructions is too simple). Let alone, the dosage is a bit too much. According to the usage and dosage, it is enough for me to take for 18 days, and my injury does not need so long treatment cycle. I can only reasonably suspect that it’s not that the doctors don’t understand, but that they do it deliberately, forcing the drug to the patient, and the patient can’t refuse it.

Another point is that the cost of each dressing change is more than 100 yuan (although there is a manual service fee in it), and I looked at the nurse’s operation process, and it seems that the imported dressing written on the bill was not used (especially the last time) Just a simple sterile bandage). The information asymmetry contained in this (patients generally do not understand the medicine, and doctors will not explain it), seems to be contrary to open and transparent market behavior. Whether the hospital will charge randomly, and just copy the last bill without depending on the recovery of the wound, this is my doubt.

The treatment cost more than 400 yuan in total. I am very happy that the wound healed, but it also made me wonder whether the hospital has enough supervision while charging high fees. How should patients protect themselves in the face of doctors’ unreasonable behavior? rights and interests.
