Futu Information, May 17 | Hong Kong stocks led the rise in technology stocks in the morning session, causing the Hang Seng Technology Index to rise 4.24% to return to the 4200 mark, the Hang Seng Index to rise 2.23%, and the State-owned Enterprise Index to rise 2.55%.
As of the noon close, Hong Kong stocks rose 1,107 stocks, fell 565 stocks, and closed flat at 1,199 stocks.
In terms of sectors, technology stocks generally rose, Sunny Optical Technology rose more than 10%, Bilibili rose more than 6%, JD.com and Alibaba rose more than 5%, and Meituan and Tencent rose more than 3%.
Auto stocks rose sharply, Great Wall Motors rose more than 9%, BYD rose more than 6%, and Geely Automobile and Lili Automobile followed suit. The agency predicts that the lowest point in the auto industry has passed.
Oil stocks strengthened, PetroChina rose more than 2%, and CNOOC and China Petrochemical also rose. On the news, U.S. oil rose above $114 overnight.
Insurance stocks and brokerage stocks rose, AIA rose nearly 4%, China Ping An rose more than 3%; CICC rose more than 2%, and Haitong Securities rose.
Some pharmaceutical stocks fell, Xinrui Medicine fell by more than 9%, Junshi Biotechnology fell by nearly 7%, and Simcere Pharmaceuticals fell by more than 4%.
In terms of individual stocks, Sunny Optical Technology (02382.HK) rose more than 10%, leading the gains in large technology stocks.
$zhihu-W(02390.HK)$ rose more than 13%, and overnight US stock Zhihu rose 15.11% to $1.57. JPMorgan upgraded Zhihu to neutral from underweight.
China Merchants Bank (03968.HK) rose more than 6%. Citi believes that China Merchants Bank has high risk-reward attractiveness, and its non-performing loan coverage ratio is higher than its peers.
$ Hua Hong Semiconductor (01347.HK) $ rose more than 5%, after the results were optimistic about the number of institutions, leading the semiconductor sector.
$Great Wall Motor (02333.HK)$ rose more than 9%, and at 10:49, Great Wall Motor (601633) A shares closed the daily limit.
$BYD shares (01211.HK)$ rose more than 6%, BYD AH shares rose together, and the pre-sale of Denza D9 was hot.
$Ganfeng Lithium (01772.HK)$ rose by more than 6%. On the news, the company announced that it would invest 1.085 billion yuan to set up a joint venture company Xinyu Ganfeng Mining, and Ganfeng Lithium’s AH shares rose together.
Zhihua Group (01842.HK) fell more than 72%. After raising the convertible bond conversion price and resuming trading today, it fell more than 84% during the session.
