Managing photos and videos on your phone is an unsolved problem. No matter how big the cloud disk is, it will always be full, and it is strange that private things are not archived on your own hard disk (rather than a rented cloud disk). The cloud disk may fail due to its own or external reasons, and it is only ideal to have it at any time. As photos piled up, the work of organizing became more and more daunting.
Many people have been expecting startups to solve this problem. I have given up. Just as the way to keep your home tidy is to keep it handy, photos can also be manually backed up to your computer daily. Open Photos on your Mac. Choose File >> Export >> Export Unmodified Originals. Annotate metadata such as shooting date and event details via directory naming and an attached text file, then delete it in Photos. So the cloud (iCloud) version is missing, but Backblaze makes up for it. Keeping photos on the phone is convenient for sharing, and it is time for Chen Xi to stop. Synchronizing multiple devices is tasteless to me.
Hard drives are cheap.
