Suppose there is a crystal bird. It was born in the desert, grew up with the merchant captain, and although it occasionally encounters an oasis, it spends most of its time wading in the yellow sand. Birds can sing beautiful songs, attracting butterflies to stop in an oasis, but even in a desert where survival is a luxury, singing is not a virtue to boast about. The caravan will not stop because of the singing, and there is no trace of butterflies around. Although people take good care of it in life, the bird doesn’t care about the cage covered with fleece blankets or the curtain that blocks the wind and sand. The bird just wants to sing.
Live like this for ten years, thirty years, a hundred years.
Finally one day, the caravan successfully walked out of the desert. The leader opened the bird’s blanket-covered cage, took the bird to the spring-filled garden, and said to it, “Now you can sing.” The bird who once loved to sing was silent. After countless days and nights when I could only sit in a cage and watch the yellow sand quietly, it has become a statue. The leader was very puzzled, how could such an incredible thing happen? But she has lived with it for so long that she has forgotten that a singing crystal bird in the desert is even more incredible. And now, the time for miracles is over. The crystal bird, which finally turned into a statue, can no longer sing no matter how much butterflies surround it.
This is the story of the crystal bird that shouldn’t exist in the desert.
