This is the “Half Smartphone Guide” (download link: https://ift.tt/461pHFC extraction code: te5p) that we released last May, hoping to help solve some elders’ mobile phone use problems, but there is no later Updated again.
Why is this happening?
This is the mobile phone we used for demonstration at that time. Last year, it changed directly from Android to Hongmeng, and the operation logic has changed completely;
Apple and Android systems have also been upgraded visibly in the past two years; major domestic manufacturers are more and more keen to make their own customized OS, everyone needs to revolutionize, innovate, and start over…
The good news is that due to the appeal of the policy and everyone’s attention, the general environment is paying more and more attention to aging-friendly transformation. But different manufacturers and developers have their own understanding of “suitable aging”, and the things that have been changed are hard to say…
All of these changes make our guide a bit of a jerk.
We found that the only way is to buy all the phones of all brands and all operating systems on the market, install all versions of the software, and then give them all a guide.
But this is simply impossible.
Unless, with the help of everyone’s strength.
Maybe we will never be able to make a perfect guide or plan, but we can find a group of people who are willing to help the elders, bring them together, and keep this thing going.
So I reorganized the information and made such a design-
Little A from Chongqing filled in a questionnaire about his grandfather’s age, education level, mobile phone brand in use, system version, commonly used software, usage proficiency, etc. Countless little As from cities across the country also doing the same thing.
The little Bs got these questionnaires and summed up a report; the little Cs reworked the outline of the “Smartphone User Guide” based on the results of the report; the little As wrote the most according to the outline and the models used by their elders Simple operation steps and screenshots, and then Xiao D and Xiao E will do detailed manuscript writing and graphic layout…
The little F who can shoot, the little G who can animate, and even the little H who can do 3D can hold the manuscript for video creation, and finally these videos will be provided to those who need it for free through various channels.
In this process, there are also small I, small J, small K, L, M, N… and others are responsible for other things in the entire project, such as planning, review, review, organizational management, process optimization…
It’s a self-organization without leaders and leaders, and members ABCDEFG…probably never meet in real life from start to finish.
Let’s refine this design a little more, it looks like this.
In this design, we have opened up most of the process through questionnaires, documents, group chats, and task assignment tools. The only problem is – it is not a big problem to let 100 people work together on a questionnaire, a form or a document , Now all kinds of online documentation tools abound, even 1000 people are not a problem. But it’s very nonsense to have 100 people make an animation or a relatively complex video together. Even if 10 people do it together, it’s difficult.
If you have made a video or animation project, you must first package it and send it to the other party. I will not talk about the transfer of large files, but if you install different software versions…the hardware configuration is different…you have installed a certain plug-in but he has not installed…As we all work online from different places, we often encounter this kind of situation. The problem.
If you are a video practitioner, no one understands this pain better than you.
That is to say, in order for this idealized self-organization to be established, we need to allow anyone in the organization to open a project at any time, anywhere, and directly design, edit, or animate. Leave it intact to others who are not around.
All we can think of is to give each organization member a computer with the same configuration and the same version of software, and then build a NAS, so that every computer can access the project files anywhere in the country.
OK, it doesn’t look difficult, but if you calculate the cost, if a computer is 1W, 10 people need 10W, 50 people need 50W…100 people…not including NAS construction, equipment operation and maintenance, handover and ownership issues …and for complex projects, this configuration is not necessarily enough…
But a product manager friend of ours gave a new idea. Things started to turn around.
It is not realistic to equip each organization member with a computer, but we can use the shadowless cloud desktop to turn everyone’s existing equipment into a computer with the same configuration. After this Windows laptop is logged into Wuying Cloud Desktop; after this Mac is logged into Wuying, this iPad is logged into Wuying, this mobile phone…
Therefore, we only need to create a sufficient number of cloud desktops in the shadowless background as needed, select the configuration, and then directly assign them to the corresponding organization members, and then set the same software and environment for all cloud desktops. In this way, each member has a computer with the same configuration, and if the configuration is not enough, it can be expanded at any time.
Then we create a shared storage NAS in “Storage Management”, and each organization member can directly access the NAS through their own cloud desktop to call and update project files.
Here we actually do two ways of collaboration.
One is that members of different organizations can share a cloud desktop, which is equivalent to a computer that has no space restrictions and can be circulated among different members.
For example, we installed C4D in this shadowless machine, and my colleague tiepen in Gansu can log in to it directly through his account and do preliminary 3D design.
After completion, I can log in and view it directly, and other people can log in and start animation production directly… After finishing his part, other people can also log in to this computer to continue improving or modifying the animation…
During animation rendering, you can log out of your account at any time, and the rendering will continue in the cloud.
The other is that each member can access the NAS at any time through his own cloud desktop to call and update the project files in it. Members can also make template project files of video and animation elements that may be used in each stage, and organize them into NAS, so that others can directly learn and reuse.
In this way, the whole process is completely opened up. How does this organization work?
If you have watched our previous videos, you will know that we all collaborate online in different places, and colleagues who have worked together for several years may have never met until now. To do this, it mainly relies on the concept of “shared intentionality”.
But we are just a small team. It is not enough to bring more people together to form leaderless self-organizations.
So we found inspiration in a brand new concept – DAO.
DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), decentralized self-organization, is an organizational form based on blockchain technology, so obviously, what we want to build is not a real DAO, but the core concept is the same – Decentralized, brought together to achieve a common goal.
Everything starts with this document.
In this public document, you will learn about the purpose and meaning of the project, and find your initial role in the project. Your starting character guides you to your goal and guides you to complete it.
In order to ensure the security of the content at each stage, we will set the corresponding document and project permissions according to the role assignment. For example, some documents only open editing permissions to writers and reviewers, and open comment permissions to other members of the organization. Outside members are open to reading rights; the project progress is archived through the cloud computer snapshot function, and only certain project managers have the snapshot deletion rights, and specific security policies will also be set for cloud computers according to security needs.
If process optimizers or planners provide other ideas, these new ideas may also become reality after feedback from organization members – such as the establishment of new documents, the participation of collectors, and the collection of official documents that are already being done by the whole network. , excellent course links and catalogues of non-governmental and non-profit organizations, sort out the documents and publish and share them with those in need; for example, establish a story area, members can share the real stories of elders in digital life, and those who are interested can read or Share and resonate with more…
Or, qualified members of the organization can organize their own help activities for the elders to give more practical help.
We may also establish a special organization contribution document, where members of the organization can write their contributions directly after completing the corresponding tasks. If this project can be successfully completed, this may be used as your resume for participating in other projects…
Of course, a lot of things come from our own imagination, but we want to try and make it a reality.
——
Now that we’ve shared the 26,000-word document of the “Half a Smartphone Guide” we’ve done earlier in the organization, it’s up to everyone to decide what it will look like. If you want to optimize the manuscript together, we will brainstorm ideas; if you want to videoize it together, in addition to the continuously optimized workflow and shadowless cloud computer, the Topbook team will provide technical support for video production as much as possible! If you have other better ideas or words about the digital life of the elders, you are always welcome!
