India cuts off Rajasthan internet to prevent unrest

Religious riots in India are getting worse . Two Muslim men stabbed a Hindu tailor in Udaipur city for insulting the Prophet and filmed the killing with their mobile phones. The events leading up to the killing began with comments from Modi’s party spokesman, Sharma, whose comments on the relationship between Islam’s prophet Muhammad and his youngest wife were considered blasphemous by Muslims. Although the party has suspended Sharma, tensions continue to escalate, with the Hindu tailor killed on Tuesday tweeting in support of Sharma and reporting death threats to police. Authorities shut down Rajasthan’s internet and banned public gatherings amid fears the case could spark wider unrest. The attackers have been arrested on terrorism charges, police said.
