According to cnBeta reports, Intel recently issued a statement to Tom’s Hardware confirming that the company’s proprietary UEFI code appears to have been leaked by a third party. But Intel doesn’t think this will expose any new security holes because they don’t rely on obfuscated information as a security measure.
It is reported that a large number of Alder Lake BIOS source codes have appeared on 4chan and GitHub websites before. An Intel spokesperson said that vulnerability research related to the code is still covered by the “Project Circuit Breaker” bounty program. At the same time, the company is reaching out to customers and the security research community to keep everyone informed.
