I mean, I haven’t taken care of my blog for a long time. It’s not because the 2L tenant has reported that his home’s wireless connection is disconnected from time to time. At first, I used the idle Phicomm K2’s high-quality firmware as an AP and used it stably for a year. More, it is no problem to do full coverage in an area of 50 square meters.

After receiving the feedback, I thought it was a router problem, and immediately replaced another K2 with the old Maozi ASUS firmware because there are two idle K2s at home. The same problem reappeared within two days. Could it be that this K2, which has been in dust for a long time, also has a problem? So I went to the seafood market and bought Taitianyi TY6201 (overqualified, underutilized) and replaced it, thinking that this problem can be temporarily resolved; the problem also occurred within a day or two, and I have every reason to suspect that there is a problem with the line. So there is the following toss…

Before upgrade:

At that time, there was no network cable reserved for the rental house when the house was built. Later, the tenants asked the neighbors to pull the network cables when they had network needs (they should have done it themselves at that time). For the sake of convenience, they only pulled one network cable from the fifth floor to 4L, 3L, and 2L. Although the cable is covered with PVC pipes on the outer wall, it is beautiful, but an eight-core network cable on each floor is divided into two network cables and connected to two crystal heads (two suites on each floor), and 100M broadband only needs 1236 cores. Surfing the Internet, I didn’t expect that the Gigabit network has spread to the home. No matter how good a router is with a 100M port, it is useless, which is why I said TY6201 (overqualified and underutilized) before.

After upgrade:

The required equipment, 4 sets of 5-port Gigabit switches are used for each floor to meet the needs of Gigabit network for two sets of rental houses. The switchboard is in the two rental houses. The equipment is bought from the second-hand seafood market. The switch is not easy to break, as long as it can be used.

As shown in the above figure, replace the 5L 100M switch with a Gigabit four-core network cable and re-make an eight-core network cable, put a 5-port Gigabit switch on each floor, and manage the debugging settings of each router in a unified manner. Use the mobile phone to measure the speed as follows As shown in the figure, the speed from the bottleneck 100M has increased to about 500M. Although it can’t be felt at home, the gap is much worse when downloading large files.

I am quite interested in router flashing, and I know a little bit about it, and all kinds of tossing can meet various needs; the NETGEAR wireless router used at home is really stable. I use the R7000 for 6L all the year round, and I basically don’t care about it, and the 3L tenants use it a few times. Year R6220 also has not been restarted. However, the R7000 is not wifi6. Although it runs 500M wireless, it is quite powerful, but recently I found that it occasionally cuts out. I plan to change to WIFI6 for fun in the near future. I found that buying a router and buying a customized version of the operator with the same configuration is more cost-effective than major brands. Anyway, All are universal.

If there is a next time toss, the direction should be: a building with Mesh wired network to achieve WIFI seamless roaming.
