Kalogon is a developer of wheelchair smart seat cushions. Its seat cushion called “Orbiter” has five different areas, corresponding to various parts of the coccyx, left and right thighs and buttocks. The saddle inflates four of the five zones to support the muscles, allowing pressure to be relieved throughout the area. Then after a few minutes, the seat cushion will slowly transfer the pressure to the next area, and so on, to avoid any one part of the body being compressed for too long, to avoid the health effects of poor blood circulation in those who use the wheelchair frequently. Kalogon recently raised $3.3 million in seed funding led by SeedFundersOrlando, with participation from DeepWork Capital, VenVelo and Sawmill Angels.
