Sebastian Thrun, CEO of Kitty Hawk, the flying taxi company funded by Alphabet co-founder Larry Page, informed employees of the layoffs . Thrun is the former founder of Google X, and Larry Page has been Kitty Hawk’s sole investor for many years. The flying car developed by the company is fully electric propulsion and can take off vertically like a helicopter. It has developed multiple prototypes, including Cora , Flyer, and most recently Heaviside, all of which have not yielded results and are currently reverting to R&D mode.
