March 2023 Summary: Women’s Day Activities in Other Towns and a Week in Porto

Open this document, if you don’t write it, this year may pass… When March passed, I didn’t write it because I was busy playing in Lisbon at the time, and then I went to the UK, and it was mid-April when I came back. During the three weeks of wandering outside, a lot of work was delayed, and I was so busy when I came back. I will come to Seattle again in May, and I am so busy!

I don’t plan to write the monthly expenditure summary anymore, because after summarizing for a few months, I found that I am quite economical? If there is no electronic product consumption or going out to play, the monthly expenditure is very fixed at just over 4000 CAD. I rarely buy clothes or skin care products, and buying some electronic products is really nothing!

March 8th Women’s Day consultation activity in her hometown

Her hometown organized a consultation activity on Women’s Day. When Chuantangfeng contacted me, I was a little hesitant. I felt that there was no one item that I could share my experience with. Whether it was Canadian immigrant life or studying and looking for a job, I was far away from her hometown forum. The needs of the main groups on the Internet are a bit far away; most of the things that can be counted as experience may be useful have been shared on blogs and mammoths. In the spirit of coming here, I still wrote a self-introduction, but after chatting with everyone-ah, I couldn’t help but swell again!

From my point of view, I found that I still have some thoughts and ways of looking at problems that can help others. Once I chatted with a friend and she said that I often have abnormal but reasonable thoughts; Looking back after a year, I may still have different feelings. It is good to be able to think more thoughtfully, even if one or two ideas can make people find it useful.

From the perspective of the consultant… I found that everyone is really overcoming all difficulties to earn a way out for themselves. Although I am also a very decisive person (omitting the 100,000 words of self-praise, otherwise it will be endless), but chatting with you, The difficulties that everyone has faced or is facing are very practical (even huge). If I think about it myself, I may not be so good at it.

Helping others to be motivated is a real perpetual motion machine, and I feel more daring to think and do it! (And this round of consultation is well received hahahaha, I will come again next time I have a chance!)

Portugal! Porto! egg tart!

I have long planned to go to Portugal. Last year, I saw the discounted air tickets of TAP Portugal, which only cost more than 400 Canadian dollars for a round trip. I immediately booked it and planned to live in Lisbon for a month. But I really want to go to Porto (it’s Mourinho’s takeoff point!) My friend who was in Air Canada in February said that he would go to Porto at the end of March, and asked me if I want to go together. It would be cheaper for two people to share the expenses. This friend is good at planning the itinerary, and you don’t have to worry about anything when you go out with him, just follow along. I immediately changed the itinerary, first went to Porto with him for a week, and then I went to Lisbon by myself.

After changing the itinerary, I thought that since I had changed everything, it would be better to make a thorough change. I planned to visit a friend in London last year, but the trip failed due to passport delays. This time I arrived in Portugal and then flew to the UK, so it was much closer, so I arranged another week in London.

Porto in March is already early summer, the temperature is around 20 degrees, the sun is sufficient but not exposed to the sun, it is very pleasant. The English penetration rate is also very high. When I came here, I decided to use my bulk Portuguese to practice. Unfortunately, the waiters in every restaurant insisted on using English to confirm the dishes I ordered. As long as I am not embarrassed, others are the ones who are embarrassed—but the waiters in the restaurant are not embarrassed, so we will continue to have a bilingual conversation like this.

The first amazing thing I found in Portugal was that every household was drying clothes. When I first went to the United States, I was told by popular science that people in Europe and the United States use dryers instead of drying clothes on the balcony. This is also the case in Canada for many years. When I arrived in Portugal, I suddenly found that every household did not see them. Drying clothes in other places is very cordial.

Hanging clothes and supporting Ukraine without delay

I didn’t do much shopping on the first day due to jet lag, but on the second day I started to go shopping and eat. I confirmed that Portuguese tarts are indeed a specialty of Portugal—snacks from all over the world like to sell dog meat. For example, Hawaiian pizza is actually from Canada. Human invention has nothing to do with a pineapple in Hawaii. As a Portuguese tart lover, I also have doubts about whether egg tarts are really delicious in Portugal. On the day of landing, when I was hungry at the airport, I found that McDonald’s sold Portuguese tarts-this is enough to explain the problem! The next day, I bought half a dozen egg tarts from a famous egg tart shop in the city. All the cafes and bakeries on the road sell egg tarts. I ordered two egg tarts and a cup of coffee. I was so paralyzed by the sun that I didn’t want to leave. !

I can still eat!

Porto is so beautiful and so beautiful! In the words of a low-key elephant friend, it is beautiful without knowing it, and not relying on its beauty to commit crimes~ I often jump and spin 360 degrees in the urban area, because I don’t know where I can find a beautiful angle that I didn’t notice when I turned around. I like it so much The walls decorated with this kind of colored tiles, especially the residential houses on both sides of the river————————— Such a beautiful wall, we still dry clothes, full of smoke and fire!

Because of Qiaoqiao’s advice, I specially booked a Boat Tour to see the Infante Dom Henrique Bridge on the Duoro River. Its arch is one of the shallowest bridges in the world in terms of height and length!

Several different attractions (church⛪ ,TRAIN STATION? ) have this painted tile decoration. Although the itinerary was booked by a friend, the Brazilians rely on the spirit of gossip to crazily output gossip about Pedro I.

There are not too few churches in Porto, but the famous ones may be more in Lisbon. Because of the beauty of distance, it is inevitable to have some solemn emotions when seeing various exotic religious buildings. But I always have a set of automatic replacement mechanism in my mind. For example, if I see a church, I will replace it with an earth temple; Become a Cowherd and Weaver Girl… In this way, no matter how exquisite, solemn and glittering the golden church is, it becomes “the face of the queen mother is very expensive.”
