Japanese woodblock prints are perfect for Halloween. Many of these works depict stories from Japanese legends, filled with demons, skeletons, and scary and creepy scenes. Perfect for today!

This striking work depicts the story of Princess Takiyasha, the daughter of the warlord Heishōmon, who leads a rebellion in Kyoto. Due to the failure of the rebellion, Ping Jiangmen was subsequently killed, and the ghosts of soldiers killed in the rebellion haunted the palace where Ping Jiangmen was located. This print records the moment when Princess Takiyasha summons these ghosts and turns them into a giant skeleton, while Otani Taro Kokuni, who was sent by the Emperor to hunt down the remaining allies of Heijomon, bravely confronts the skeleton and ultimately defeats the conspirators.
