The website of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection issued a brief statement , and Comrade Xiao Yaqing, Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, accepted the examination and investigation of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Xiao Yaqing has successively served as the director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, the deputy secretary-general of the State Council, the general manager and party secretary of Aluminum Corporation of China, and the chairman and CEO of Aluminum Corporation of China. In July 2020, he served as Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and then concurrently served as the Minister. He is the first serving minister to be investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in the past five years.
