But over the past six months, many have struggled to live up to the mantra. Since April this year, Twitter employees have become the most miserable employees in Silicon Valley. They were caught in the uncomfortable dilemma of Elon Musk’s unsolicited $44bn acquisition of the platform and then his attempt to back out of the deal, inspiring them while discrediting the process their job. Now he may be their master again. Insiders disclosed that Twitter’s employee turnover rate has increased sharply. Those who remain at the company are weighing whether to stay and see Musk reign or jump ship immediately. Musk’s capricious and unpredictable meddling is thought to have affected the entire Twitter experience. Musk’s company’s culture of encouraging long hours also clashes with Twitter’s relaxed work culture.
