What does it mean to be a Hong Konger?

We have heard too much about “Chinese and Western mix, Chinese and Western”, but in addition to British culture, the presence of South Asian ethnic groups in Hong Kong should not be erased. The most famous, but perhaps still little-known, example: Filipinos are effectively integrated into the social fabric of Hong Kong on at least two levels. One is as a domestic helper (Filipino maid), and the other is as an excellent accompanist and arranger who contributed greatly to the post-war Hong Kong pop music… An inconvenient fact is that South Asian ethnic groups have so far not been given enough in the Hong Kong narrative. Paying attention to it just reflects the homogeneity between Hong Kong people and mainland Chinese… Considering that the people involved are generally old, music is no longer the main export of the spirit of the times, and Hong Kong has been completely in the same state as mainland China in politics. It can be imagined that after the war The entire history of South Asians in Hong Kong will be harder to show in the future.
