OpenAI hires 1,000 contractors to improve AI programming

According to people familiar with the matter, OpenAI has recruited about 1,000 remote contract workers in Latin America and Eastern Europe in the past six months, 40% of whom are programmers, and their job is to create data learning software projects for OpenAI’s models. An outsourcing company advertised for OpenAI that a reputable company is looking for Python developers. The company is committed to developing world-leading AI technology to help make the world a better and more efficient place. According to descriptions by the company’s contractors, OpenAI is building datasets that contain not just code but human interpretation described in natural language. One developer who completed OpenAI’s five-hour unpaid programming test said he was asked to complete a two-part task. The first was given a programming problem and asked to explain in written English how he would approach it. Then ask him for a solution. If he finds a bug, OpenAI asks him to describe it in detail and how to fix it. OpenAI seems to be trying to make AI actually learn to program.
