Chuangyebang was informed that on June 8, 2022, Qianhang Technology (Autra.tech), an autonomous driving trunk logistics company, announced that it will complete the delivery of 200 million yuan Pre-A round of financing in April 2022. Investors in this round include Cathay Fund. , Xianghe Capital, BAI Capital and other investment institutions.

Previously, Qianhang Technology completed two angel rounds in October and December 2021, led by IDG Capital and SF Holding, followed by Xpeng Motors/Star Air Capital and BV Baidu Ventures, totaling 191.5 million Yuan Renminbi.

Founded in July 2021, Qianhang Technology is a technology company focusing on L4 truck autonomous driving technology and commercialization. According to Tao Ji, CEO of Qianhang Technology, “Qianhang Technology is based in China, focusing on mainline logistics, cutting in with leading autonomous driving technology, aiming at mass production and large-scale operation, and strives to promote the productivity of the mainline logistics industry through technological progress. Upgrade, fill the labor shortage, and help the high-quality development of China’s economy.”

The company consists of Tao Ji, former general manager of Baidu’s autonomous driving business department and general manager of intelligent transportation product research and development, Sun Haowen, former founder of Pony.ai Truck Team, former chairman of Baidu Group Technical Committee, former VP of AutoNavi Group, and former CTO of Meicai.com Liao Ruoxue, Co-founded with Ding Fei, the former head of IDG Capital’s technology and travel investment.

CEO Tao Ji said that China’s truck logistics industry has 7.3 million medium and heavy trucks, which is a trillion-level track. At the same time, there may be a severe labor shortage in the industry in the future, and there is a very large room for development of autonomous driving.

After 5 or 6 years of development, the commercialization potential of self-driving trucks is being verified. Taoji believes that the achievement of self-driving trucks requires a combination of technology, mass production and operation. This is also some summary and reflection of Taoji and Qianhang Technology team on their past experiences:

Technology – “The team members have dual experience in the research and development of autonomous passenger car and truck technology. These experiences not only refer to the algorithm itself, but more importantly, the team’s iterative thinking and data closed-loop experience summarized in the past large-scale R&D and testing practices. “This kind of thinking and strong infrastructure support can be well migrated to the truck scene, which is a point we think is very valuable. ‘ said Tougie.

Mass production – “After polishing the L4 technology, it must be deployed on a large scale. “Scale and quantity” is the most important thing. Reliable, consistent and stable truck fleet.”

Operation – “To make a truck, you must enter the logistics industry. If you say that technology is in the sky, you must have two feet that can be inserted into the soil. Only by going deep into the industry can you know the demand for technology in the scene and truly get through. A complete closed loop from technology to commercial operation,” Taoji said.
