I think that when we look at the problem, it should be divided into two levels, what is and what should be.
In fact, refers to what things actually look like. Rather, it refers to how things should be.
At the real level, it means to look at things from the objective reality. At the ought level, it means to look at things from the perspective of subjective expectations. If it is realism, then it should be idealism.
If we can distinguish between what is and what should be, then we will avoid many misunderstandings. Will not confuse ideal and reality, resulting in wrong perception.
As mentioned above, it is indeed realism, and reality is often cruel, so many people do not like to hear the actual situation, and even think it is negative energy. But it should be idealism, ideals are always full, then the expectations described will be fascinated by many people.
It is said that “good medicine is good for the disease, good medicine is good for the disease, and good advice is good for deeds.” However, in reality, although there are many people who know this truth, few can really do it. Everyone likes to listen to good words, which is a common weakness of human beings.
Take the international situation as an example. Although peace and stability are the main themes of today’s world, they are also the vision in my heart. However, from a practical point of view, regional wars still exist, and many people are still killed in the wars to this day. We cannot deny the actual level because of the judgment at the level of what should be. Otherwise, there is no need for each country to make a lot of defense investment. This example illustrates well that we cannot use our vision to influence the judgment of the world.
To give another example, many owners are now dissatisfied with the residential properties. More money, less work, this is the real level. Then the level should be that as much as you charge, you have to do as many things, and the property can’t cope or don’t do things. But the skinny reality makes many people succumb. Most of the owners are numb, knowing that there will be no good service, and they have to pay a lot of property fees on a regular basis. Then comes the problem.
The above example shows that we cannot make our hearts feel powerless because of the cruelty of reality, and then deny what we should have in our hearts. To put it simply, although many things are not beautiful, we must always tell ourselves that the world should not be like this. We have to work hard for it.
To sum up, it is realism, it should be idealism. On the one hand, we cannot divorce from objective reality and view the world from an idealistic view. On the other hand, we cannot surrender to cruel realism and use our hard-working hands to create a better tomorrow.
In short, we cannot deny reality because of ought, nor deny ought because of reality. We must make good use of the materialist dialectics of Marxism and look at the world objectively and comprehensively.
