Nine dead and several missing in Seoul, South Korea. From the early hours of Monday to early Tuesday, Seoul was inundated with nearly 43 centimeters of rain, roughly the amount normally seen throughout the summer months, flooding houses, streets and subway stations. Emergency crews found three dead, two sisters in their 40s and a 13-year-old girl, after they pumped water out of a half-basement. The Korea Meteorological Agency said more torrential rain is expected in the capital region and its eastern and southern provinces. Photos and videos on social media showed people struggling through waist-deep water with drivers trapped on the roofs of cars. The pictures after the flood receded are like a disaster movie.
