In September 2022, the C919 large passenger aircraft will receive a type certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China after completing all the airworthiness certification work. The first aircraft will be delivered by the end of 2022. This marks that my country has the ability to independently develop world-class large passenger aircraft, and is an important milestone in the development of my country’s large aircraft industry.

Since the project was established in 2007, in the past 15 years, from the research and development, the test to overcome difficulties, to the completion of hundreds of flight test subjects, thousands of test subjects, and thousands of hours of airworthiness certification work, the whole process is like a Relay running, C919 runs one after another, and now has achieved staged achievements.

Since its maiden flight in 2017, C919 has flown across all corners of the country, endured the harsh test of ice, snow, wind, high temperature and high cold, and challenged the limit test flight of the whole aircraft static test, stall, maximum braking energy, minimum ground speed, etc., and handed over a copy Excellent answer sheet. The actual combat test of airworthiness certification has fully verified that the design idea and technical route of the C919 are correct, and the safety and reliability meet the requirements of airworthiness regulations.

Large passenger aircraft have high technical thresholds, long development cycles and complex systems. Over the past 15 years, my country has firmly established independent innovation, open cooperation, and overcome difficulties with full resilience, and successfully explored a development path of Chinese design, system integration, global bidding, and gradual localization.

Large passenger aircraft is a landmark and driving project, and a new engine for the development of my country’s aviation industry. Over the years, C919 has transformed from a product to a platform, driving the construction of technological innovation and a high-end manufacturing industry ecology centered on the aviation industry, making its own contribution to the solid advancement of the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse.

Airworthiness certification is only the first step for the C919 to be put into operation. It still needs to be consistent, consistent, and long-term, to make greater breakthroughs in key core technologies, to speed up the development of large-scale and serialization, and to let China’s large aircraft fly in the blue sky.
