Rust is coming to Linux 6.1

At the Linux Kernel Maintainers Summit , Linus Torvalds said that unless something weird happens, Rust will be coming to Linux 6.1. The version currently under development is Linux 6.0, with 6.1 being the next version. The first to enter the kernel is the NVMe driver developed in the Rust language, which has achieved comparable performance to the C language version. The work of Linux kernel and Rust developer Miguel Ojeda has made the kernel’s support for Rust more mature. Kernel developers agree that Rust on Linux is ready.
