According to Taiwan media Economic Daily, citing Seoul Economic Daily, according to industry sources, despite the global economic slowdown, Samsung Electronics will expand the wafer production capacity of DRAM and wafer foundry next year, and will add at least 10 EUV lithography equipment ( EUV).

It is reported that Samsung’s P3 fab in Pyeongtaek will expand DRAM equipment, which can produce 70,000 pieces of 12-inch wafers per month. The current production capacity of the P3 plant’s DRAM production line is 20,000 pieces per month. Samsung expects to use the new equipment to produce 12nm DRAM. As of Q3, Samsung’s total monthly DRAM wafer production was 665,000 pieces.

In addition, Samsung also plans to increase the monthly wafer output of the P3 plant by 30,000 wafers. As of Q3, Samsung’s overall monthly wafer foundry output was 476,000 pieces.

Not long ago, Samsung announced the launch of the industry’s most advanced 12nm-class high-performance and low-power DDR5 DRAM, which plans to start mass production next year and supply to different customers such as data centers and artificial intelligence.
