In a thread on Reddit, dozens of iPhone 14 Pro users reported that one or more green and yellow lines may flash on the screen and then disappear after a few seconds when the device is turned on. According to these users, Apple Support has informed them that the issue is not the result of insufficient hardware, but a bug in iOS 16.
According to users on Reddit, Apple Support forums (1, 2, 3), and MacRumors forums, the problem appears to have started after the iOS 16.2 update, although some users have reported the problem even on older versions of iOS 16. A user on Reddit claimed that an Apple engineer informed them by phone that Apple was working on a software fix for the issue, but exact details were unclear.
Apple is currently testing iOS 16.3 with developers and public beta testers, but the update isn’t expected to release until early next year. The latest version of iOS 16 is iOS 16.2, which includes several new features, including Apple MusicSing, Apple’s new Freeform app, and more.
