Stack Overflow annual survey shows developers love Rust and telecommuting

Over 73,000 developers in 180 countries participate in Stack Overflow’s annual developer survey . The results showed that Rust was the favorite programming language for developers for the seventh year in a row, followed by Elixir, Clojure, TypeScript, and Julia. JavaScript remains the most commonly used language, followed by HTML/CSS, SQL, Python, and TypeScript. Phoenix became the favorite web framework for developers, and Visual Basic for Applications and COBOL remained the most hated technologies for developers. The operating systems most commonly used by developers are Windows, Linux and macOS, with Microsoft Windows’ Linux subsystem usage increasing to 14% from 3% in 2021.
