Tencent assists the country’s first central enterprise carbon inclusive platform upgrade work to build SPIC’s digital low-carbon living community

Recently, the State Power Investment Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “State Power Investment”) carbon inclusive platform “Low Carbon E Point” version 2.0 was officially released to the society. The “Low-Carbon e-Point” platform is the first carbon inclusive platform for central enterprises in China. It was invested and constructed by the State Power Investment Group Carbon Assets Management Company and supported by Tencent. The upgraded version 2.0 aims to create a digital, fully functional, ecologically friendly and distinctive feature. low-carbon living community, boosting SPIC to accelerate its development into a world-class clean energy company with global competitiveness. It is estimated that by 2035, 140,000 SPIC employees can reduce carbon emissions by 2.32 million tons per year. 740

Carbon inclusiveness is an incentive mechanism that gives value to the public’s voluntary energy conservation and carbon reduction behavior, and an important mechanism innovation to support the realization of my country’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. Relying on the carbon inclusive platform, various carbon reduction behaviors of the public and enterprises can be quantified and exchanged into corresponding carbon coins. The carbon coins can be exchanged for commercial discounts, exchanged for public services, and can also enter the carbon trading market to offset the carbon emission quotas of emission control enterprises. and so on, so as to promote the active participation of the public and enterprises in energy conservation and emission reduction actions.

The 1.0 version of SPIC’s carbon inclusive platform “Low-Carbon e-Point” was launched in April last year. It has set up personal carbon accounts for 140,000 SPIC employees, implemented a personal carbon inclusive incentive mechanism, and encouraged each employee to actively participate in low-carbon action. In order to further improve the application scenarios of the platform, improve the user application experience, and gradually expand the platform from within the group to the scope of socialization, SPIC joined hands with Tencent to upgrade and optimize the platform again.

Based on Tencent’s superior technology and ecological capabilities, the “Low-Carbon e-Point” platform was successfully upgraded within 3 months. The platform covers more integral scenarios such as green travel, household photovoltaics, CD-ROM operations, voluntary motor vehicle suspension, walking, climbing stairs, etc., and there are daily check-in, fun quiz, electricity investment carbon news, points ranking and other related activities. Carbon credits can not only be flexibly exchanged for material rewards on the electric energy e-purchase platform, but also exchanged for azaleas public welfare activity certificates and forestry carbon sink project emission reductions.

According to reports, according to the average activity of the platform, each user can accumulate 20,000 carbon credits in the “low-carbon e-point” every year. Looking ahead to 2035, according to the calculation rules provided by the Beijing Green Exchange, 140,000 SPIC employees will be able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.32 million tons.

“Low-carbon e-point” version 2.0 is an important exploration of Tencent in the field of carbon inclusive platform construction, and it is also a beneficial attempt by Tencent to digitally assist the low-carbon transformation of the industry. Tencent is one of the first Internet companies in China to initiate carbon neutrality plans, and announced the “Net Zero Action” in February this year, promising to achieve carbon neutrality in its own operations and supply chain no later than 2030. In addition, taking carbon neutrality as an opportunity, Tencent proposes to help all walks of life, especially energy, power and other industries, in green and low-carbon transformation through digital means.

Previously, on June 9, Tencent released two energy industry products, “Energy Connector (Tencent EnerLink)” and “Energy Digital Twin (Tencent EnerTwin)” for the first time. Relying on the synergy advantages of Tencent’s connection, the two products will leverage technological capabilities such as big data, artificial intelligence, and digital twins, which will effectively promote enterprises to improve quality, increase efficiency, save energy and reduce carbon emissions, and help the industry to accelerate its move towards digitization and carbon neutrality.
