Tesla’s Model S and Model X electric vehicles are beginning to integrate Valve’s Steam platform, and passengers will be able to play thousands of Steam games on the display. Tesla rolled out the Steam Beta to the Model S and Model X as part of a holiday update. Steam integration is only available on the newer Model S and Model X models produced in the past two years, due to the fact that newer models come with more powerful computers. The new computer integrates AMD Navi 23 GPU, which Tesla claims has a processing power of 10 teraflops, comparable to the latest generation of game consoles, and the support for wireless handles allows users to sit in any seat and play games. The most likely scenario for playing games on a car’s display is when charging. Electric cars take a long time to fully charge, so drivers can spend this time playing games.
