Sina Technology News Beijing time on the evening of September 27th, according to reports, despite the recent upgrade of Tesla’s Shanghai factory, the company still plans to maintain the Shanghai factory’s production capacity at about 93% by the end of the year.

This is a rare move for Tesla. Since the Shanghai plant started construction in 2019, it has basically been operating at full capacity. Recently, Tesla also increased its weekly production by 30% to a maximum of 22,000 vehicles.

The upgraded Shanghai plant can produce 14,000 Model Ys and 8,000 Model 3s a week, people familiar with the matter said. But in the remaining months of the year, Tesla plans to produce 20,500 vehicles per week, including 13,000 Model Ys and 7,500 Model 3s.

In the first eight months of this year, 60% of the electric vehicles produced at Tesla’s Shanghai plant were sold in China, and the rest were exported to overseas markets such as Australia, Europe, Japan and Singapore.
