According to the latest report released by Asymco analyst Horace Dediu, the average spending of Apple iPhone users on apps is 7.4 times that of Android users, which is much higher than the previously proposed 4 times view.

De Dio said: Apple claims to have 650 million active App Store users, while Google claims to have 2.5 billion active users. This makes the global ratio nearly 4 times that of Android. The ratio between revenues has remained very stable, with Apple to Google revenue ratio of 29:15 (1.93) in 2016 and 81:42 (1.93) in 2022. Therefore, we can compare app revenue per user for both platforms by dividing the global revenue figure by the global user count. So an iPhone user is 7.4 times more valuable than an Android user.

Dedio also expressed optimism for Apple’s launch of the Vision Pro headset, which he believes could create a 10x difference in spending.
