The Cyberspace Administration of China issued the “Measures for Security Assessment of Data Exiting the Country”

The Cyberspace Administration of China issued the Measures for Security Assessment of Data Exports , which will come into force on September 1, 2022. The “Measures” stipulate that data processors provide important data overseas, key information infrastructure operators and data processors processing more than one million personal information provide personal information overseas, and cumulatively provide overseas personal information since January 1 of the previous year. Data processors with personal information of 100,000 people or sensitive personal information of 10,000 people who provide personal information overseas must pass the security assessment of the Cyberspace Administration of China before they can provide information overseas.
