The United States is a federal republic. The fifty states are independent management systems of state governments (that is, independent “small countries”). In addition to diplomacy and military affairs, they have their own laws, taxation, police, education, and election systems, so the states have great power. The core powers of the Federation (central government) are: foreign affairs, national defense, coinage, immigration, naturalization, and international trade. The reason why the U.S. Constitution is formulated according to the principle of separation of powers is the full understanding of the distrust of human nature and the full understanding of the original sin of man.
