According to the latest data from the pumped storage industry branch, as of October 21, 2022, a total of 35 projects of pumped storage power plants have been approved during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, with a total installed capacity of 45.098 million kilowatts and a total project investment of about 3451 billion. Since 2022, 24 power plants have been approved, with a total installed capacity of 31.298 million kilowatts and an investment of about 255.3 billion yuan. In the first eight months of this year, the approved installed capacity of pumped storage power stations was 16.7 million kilowatts, with an investment of over 110 billion yuan.
