Living in downtown Kaohsiung, the sunset can be seen from many places along the harbor, but my favorite is the Fort behind the flag. Not only because it is condescending and has a wide field of vision, but also because the most beautiful scenery here is really people.
On the top of the fort, on the side facing the sea, people are either sitting or standing, and family members or friends traveling with each other exchange their experiences or just feel quietly. Under the setting sun, strangers are no longer strangers.
The one facing the port is the skyline of the city. When the weather is good, you can even see the North Dawu Mountain. The people on the fort are naturally part of the scenery.
No matter how beautiful the scenery is, it is not the point. The focus is on who you are with. The most beautiful sunset is the one you share with the people you care about.
Circle around the top of the fort. In addition to looking at the sea, you will also see Cijin, Kaohsiung Harbor and the skyline of the city,
Crowds of people riding waves at Qijin Beach,
And the planes that fly from the distant sky from time to time.
At sunset, accompanied by the setting sun, you can walk along the trail on the west side of the Fort to the back gate of the Kaohsiung Lighthouse. The lighthouse park is free to visit and is open at night. It’s a good time to go. The lighthouse under the sunset is particularly charming.
The Lighthouse Park is also a good place to enjoy the scenery. Especially the invincible night view of Kaohsiung Harbor and Kaohsiung City.
On the other side is Sun Yat-sen University, which is surrounded by mountains and sea. The tranquility at night and the bright lights of the city are like two worlds.
Of course the most beautiful scenery is the people. People watching the night view together.
If you don’t stay at the lighthouse to see the night view, but go down the mountain and take a ferry back to the city in the afterglow of the setting sun, the Kaohsiung Harbor reflected in the sunset is the most beautiful.
And earlier on the ferry from Gushan to Qijin, the sky was still bright, and what I saw was the skyline of the city by the port.
