Three ten weeks: No.38
The topic of this issue is Good News.
There are many angles to look at the world, one of which is Good News, and unfortunately I feel more and more that we are losing this skill. Before reading the library to promote a set of books, I said that the world is well known and understood, many of which are villains, wars, and huge scientific successes, but the world has not come to this day like this, many valuable things, People are completely unfamiliar with it, so they take it for granted. The progress of the world is built bit by bit by relying on these little bricks. This set of books, called “The Great God of Medicine”, has about tens of thousands of words each, and talks about a lot of de-enchantment, progress and development in medicine.
Similarly, in my opinion, the world we understand did not come to this day by defeating bad people and eradicating viruses, but by love, mutual help, mutual encouragement, and human wisdom. Rely on the Good News, not Breaking News. I also hope that you will pay more attention to some good news instead of indulging in bad news and all kinds of gossip all day long.
I always repeat what I heard a long time ago: If I live happily today and live happily tomorrow, then I will be happy all my life. This sentence, dialectically, makes sense.
Happy Wednesday to you. ( If you are very happy on Wednesday, it means that you have survived Monday and Tuesday, looking forward to the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, this week is also a happy week )
DeepMind uncovers structure of 200m proteins in scientific leap forward | DeepMind | The Guardian
AI is probably one of the tech words we hear most often, but don’t have a specific feeling about. What is it doing and what has changed? If I say autonomous driving, it is obvious whether the car can drive by itself; if I say a robot, it is also clear at a glance whether it is standing in front of you dancing and carrying things. But AI is really like air. It can’t be touched or smelled, but it always feels that it is changing human life. Look at Douyin, why can’t you stop, eat a restaurant, and magically recommend another one? go.
The application and progress of AI in medicine has always been a topic of great concern to me. It has the ability and should try to bring a better life to mankind. For example, DeepMind’s AlphaFold mentioned in the article,
“Essentially, you can think of it as covering the entire protein universe. It includes predictive structures for plants, bacteria, animals, and many other organisms, opening up huge new opportunities for AlphaFold to have an impact on important issues, such as sustainability, food insecurity, and neglected diseases,” said Demis Hassabis, DeepMind’s founder and chief executive.

It includes predicted structures for plants, bacteria, animals, and many other organisms that generate AlphaFold on important issues like sustainability, food safety, and neglected tropical diseases. Impact opens up huge new opportunities.”.
Ohio humane society rescues 80 dogs, community rallies to foster them – The Washington Post
‘As each one came through our door, I gently told them, “Your life just got better,” ‘ said Lori Carlson of Ohio’s Licking County Humane Society
“Whenever someone walks through our door, I gently tell them, ‘Your life has changed for the better,'” said Lori Carlson of the Humane Society of Lick County, Ohio.
In this world, there are always people who are trying to do little things that can really help others. For example, at the beginning of Hirokazu Kore-eda’s new film “The Broker”, there will be an abandoned baby incubator at the door of the church, such as the animal shelter established in Ohio.
Early education classes for poor children, the long road to fairness
Education issues are probably the issues that the whole world will pay attention to, but education issues are largely not an issue of education itself. In recent years, there have been many innovative education similar to the American education system in China. In Beijing alone, I have been paying attention to two innovative schools, Yitu and Ririxin.
At the same time, Li Xigui, the principal of the Eleventh School, is also the leader of China’s education reform. The Eleventh School is known for its project-based teaching. It is undeniable that this method has obvious effects on improving the comprehensive ability of students, but the problem is that the education system has not changed. The means of education have changed, whether it is more effective or counterproductive, no one can say clearly.
Education needs reform, but how? Perhaps, it is a good way to start with teachers and ideas first.
