TikTok tells European users that employees in other countries can access user data

TikTok has updated its privacy policy to inform European users that employees in non-EU countries, including China, have access to user data, a move aimed at ensuring users’ experience on its platform is consistent, enjoyable and secure. TikTok employees in other countries have access to EU user data, including Brazil, Canada, Israel, the United States and Singapore, where TikTok European user data is stored. The new privacy policy applies to the UK, EEA and Switzerland and will take effect on 2 December.
