TSMC quarterly revenue expected to surpass Intel for the first time

Wall Street analysts estimate that TSMC’s second-quarter revenue will rise 43% to $18.1 billion. Intel’s quarterly revenue for the same period is expected to drop 2% to $17.98 billion. TSMC is on track to surpass Intel in quarterly revenue for the first time , a trend that underscores surging demand for contract chip manufacturing, with Qualcomm, Nvidia, AMD and Apple all outsourcing their own designs to foundries such as TSMC. Intel used to design its own chips and produce its own chips, but now in addition to producing its own chips, it also relies on TSMC to produce some chips for itself, as well as trying to manufacture chips for other companies. Samsung Electronics is currently the largest semiconductor company by revenue, and TSMC will now have more revenue than the former chip giant.
